Laser Eye Surgery Information

  • My cat was recently diagnosed with retinal degeneration. It was brought on by an excessive dosage of Baytril. (prescribed by an ER vet) He seems to have some vision left. He almost seems to have tunnel vision or to be far sighted. His pupils are very large at night and will stay that way, but when he is in natural light they retract back down to normal. Is this a sign that he does still have some vision?

  • Or, is there anyone with personal experience of retinal cysts? Friend of mine has retinal cysts, many in the left eye, 1 or 2 in the right eye. Yes, he’s lived in various countries in Africa so parasites are potentially to blame. But, if so, which ones? Is there anything other than parasites that it could be? Cited articles preferred – thanks.

  • It’s been a month and now I can only see in my right eye; my specialist said I came right in the dead line and I’m getting surgery on Tuesday. He said there’s a 50-50 chance i’ll get my eye back really good. Do you think i’ll get my eye sight back? I can see movement and lights ; oh and I’m 13 and I use to wear contacts now I don’t and my glasses are on the way. Thanks in advance.

  • I just had this surgery today because I has a tear/hole in my retina. It was painful for me to have the laser surgery and my Dr. said that for 95% of people it is not that painful. Its been a couple of hours since I have had it done and I am still feeling discomfort and a dull ache in my eye, which is causing a headache. I tried to call the Dr.’s office but they have closed for the day. Anyone know if this is normal to experience this level of discomfort and if so how long does it last for? Thanks for your help!
